About Dupthob

Bhutan isn’t just my home – it’s my life’s work.

I’m Dupthob, founder of Blissful Eco Tours, and I’ve spent over two decades building deep roots in this country – through politics, hospitality, and now the land itself.

From 2008 to 2023, I served three terms as a Member of Parliament, including on the Economic and Finance Committee. Those years gave me firsthand insight into Bhutan’s policy landscape, investment climate, and the infrastructure that makes a destination truly work – for leisure travellers and business delegations alike.

My journey in tourism began even earlier. After earning my B.Com (Honours) from Delhi University in 2002, I joined the Como Group’s Uma Paro, one of Bhutan’s most respected luxury properties – where I learned what world-class hospitality looks like from the inside.

For the past two years, I’ve stepped back from the pace of public life to live in my village in Trashiyangtse – one of Bhutan’s most remote and unspoiled eastern districts. I grow vegetables and mushrooms, wake up to mountain silence, and have rediscovered what makes this country extraordinary. That experience now drives my newest mission: bringing authentic eco-tourism to a corner of Bhutan most travellers never reach.

I bring all of this together – policy experience, hospitality knowledge, and genuine village life – to help you experience Bhutan on a deeper level. Whether you’re planning a MICE event (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions), seeking seamless local logistics, or looking for a truly off-grid retreat in the east, I’m here to make it happen.

Let’s show you the Bhutan beyond the postcard – rooted, natural, and ready for business.
